OpenAI CEO Sam Altman on Thursday told a U.S. Senate committee that the U.S. government doesn’t need to set standards for how AI should be developed, Politico reported .
The comments appear to diverge from Senate testimony two years ago in which he said the government should pass legislation and safety standards to allow the field to continue growing while lowering its potential negative
